About Eugene Conway

Eugene Conway was born in Derbyshire in1960. He is a family man with a wife and three children.

He spent his teens studying Art & Design at Stockport College which in turn led to a career as an Industrial Designer with The Royal Worcester Porcelain Company.

Eugene is a full time painter. He lives in the village of Colwall which sits in the lea of The Malvern Hills in Worcestershire.

Eugene Conway`s paintings are held in numerous private collections. His strong reputation as a portrait painter has led to many successful commissions. He works entirely in oil paint on canvas or prepared boards.

It`s me, or rather a painting based on a reflection of me. Perhaps not a very good likeness. But it is my opinion, my own view of what I think I see staring back at me in the mirror. I`m not really what I`d call a modern artist, at least not in the Tracey Emin or Damien Hurst stakes. But today I have received lots of comments along the lines of, " blimey, who is it ? " and " you`re not hanging that in here ! " Does this mean I`m suffering for my art ?
