Give
Eugene Conway

As a nation we`re very good at giving, this is somehow evidenced by the number of charity shops that seem to populate all of the high streets in the UK. Can anyone out there contradict this ? I`m not saying that this is a bad thing it merely highlights our compassion and good will. I`m sure that we all give a little to some cause or other. I was compelled to paint this box because of its strong design and message. Hockney said something about how art should move you, and that design doesn`t generally do this..unless it`s on a bus ? I`m not sure quite where I`m going with this ramble, it`s now late and I`m moved to go to bed. Good Night !

Baby
Eugene Conway

I haven`t been at the easel for a month or so, what with the school holidays and recently starting to work for the British Red Cross, time seems to be just zooming along with me trying to keep up. Talking of which I reached the grand mature fifty years the other day, I don`t feel a day over that ! My last painting here on IFTV, was a portrait of an old lady of considerable distinction.( Irena Sendler..have a look for her on Google ? ) So I thought that a new wave of my paintings could start with this image of a little cherub. A bit corny I know, but so what ?

There isn`t always, or even often a message with this little painting project but just for today, try this. A friend alerted me to this brave person via an email, and in turn I urge you to seek her out on something like Google perhaps. Her story of truly amazing bravery is an inspiration. If there is a small message here today then how about this...do something for someone else other than yourself, just once in a while. I`m trying this through a connection with The British Red Cross at the moment, so far so good.

Candle Light
Eugene Conway

Today I have been painting with a camera looking over my shoulder. The end results can be seen by following the link on my Facebook page thingy. As many of you will know by now, computer and digital camera technology are not a strong point with me. That said, I have got a small group of willing and very able helpers in these departments. A big Thank You, to my friend Fred for his expertise and equipment today. Please take a minute to find this clip it certainly made my day !

Wild Cherries
Eugene Conway

I don`t paint every day because things get in the way, like life. But today I couldn't`t resist these little wild cherries that I found along Stowe Lane when I walked Harry. People who paint often get distracted during a painting day, that is all the jobs that need doing around the garden and house seem to be more pressing. However when an inspiring subject to paint presents itself I find that everything else has to take second place, after all these cherries will soon all be eaten by the birds. Today's message, if indeed there ever is one, is..seize the day !

Croquet Mallets and Ball
Eugene Conway

It may not feature as prominently as other sports here in England but make no mistake croquet is out there. Also this seemingly gentle pursuit played out on a lawned court is apparently edged with some pretty aggressive tactics that could prove shocking to the feint hearted, so take care should you find yourself invited to while away a summers afternoon.

Old Ice Skates
Eugene Conway

IFTV has its eye firmly off the dreaded football today but continues with a nostalgic sporting theme. I know that from time to time I seem to change directions with the subjects and ideas, often ignoring the season or fine weather. It`s just that life gets in the way or rather throws up ideas and painting possibilities that I get pulled towards. The best thing for me about this painting lark is a wonderful sense of increasing confidence and freedom that goes with the territory. Today skates, tomorrow..who knows ? ( This is a big painting so caveat emptor )

Thrush
Eugene Conway

This poor little bird, perhaps a song thrush crashed into my window this morning and died. I was going to just dispose of it until my daughter Helen persuaded me to try and paint it. So as a kind of tribute here`s today's` image. The mornings at present from about 4.30 am onwards in the village are noisy ones. The sounds of the dreaded squawking crows and ceaseless cooing blinkin` pigeons is only bearable due to the sounds of the many wonderful song birds. There`s a nest with sparrows in our roof space, and their chirping is almost musical.
