Image From the Village is a chronicle of paintings which Eugene Conway started a few years ago.

He sees this as an opportunity to paint concepts from everyday family life here in England .

Together with a diary entry these paintings are displayed on the website and emailed to everyone who has subscribed.

As well taking inspiration from England’s more obvious subjects, such as the landscape and seasonal harvests, Eugene often turns his attention to television and the newspapers as a source of material for his paintings.

Eugene explains:

“As an artist I try to be open to new ideas and ways of reflecting a broad spectrum of work, through oil paint.
I’m just as excited painting from life, using bought and found objects, as I am considering an article on the news or in a magazine.

 The more work I produce, the more I’ve come to realise that anything can be the primary source for a picture.

 It’s all about being free, and painting is a wonderful way to explore in general.
